(E.g., wear some jewelry; change the tone of your VM message). I think their input made a big difference.

This is a letter long overdue and I am glad to now finally be writing to you. I am doing quite well and have settled into a new job that suits me. The change has turned out to be an exceedingly positive one and I am thankful for my good fortune.
